    Old Flight Sims. and Windows 10

    I have MS Flight Simulator 2000 and Combat Flight Simulator (WWII Europe) dating from the late 90s on my desktop PC which I haven't bothered with for some time. They used to work in Windows 8.1 but I can't get them to work in Windows 10 v 2004 despite trying all the compatibility options. Has anyone had any luck getting these to run properly?

    MS Flight Simulator 2000 - program won't run

    Combat Flight Simulator - program runs with sound & graphics OK but no responses to the keyboard or XBox controller commands

    @Steve-C

    Try reducing the display resolution to 1280x780....I had to do that for Janes FA18 (~1998 vintage) to run on Windows 10.

    I love Combat Flight Simulator WWII. I have a copy of it. Might try to get it to run also.
    I still have my MS Precision 2 joystick as well.

    Let's both post any solutions we find.

    @Steve C

    I can get the game to run on Windows 10, no problem. It even recognizes the joystick... sort of.
    It sees the joystick, even knows it's name, but I'm having problems get the joystick to respond.

    Only other issue is I can't find a list or controls or the manual, anywhere.

    See this link which is the same document as the printed manual I still have - Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator / PC (DOS/Windows) / Downloads - replacementdocs

    I also resuscitated Microsoft Flight from 2012 which works but the servers are no longer operated so you can't make much progress in the game.

    Excellent find on the manual. I'm gonna have to find a forum somewhere with the solution to the joystick problem.
    I don't type well enough to play with the keyboard.

    /edit

    For the life of me I can't get the joystick to work. The game sees the joystick, but that's it. I also know that this joystick works with this game.

    Much more research is needed.

    I've still got all of my old flight simulators running on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

    Flight Simulator 2002 several different boxed editions.
    Flight Simulator X several different boxed editions.

    I mainly run the Flight Simulator X because I like it better.

    I'll eventually get around to X-Plane 10 although need to do some research about what all it's going to take to get the add-ons downloaded and installed and setup and working.

    I have one Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator can't remember which campaign however I was kind of disappointed with it.
