XBOX 360 external HDD won't show up...?

Just had a marvellous idea, plugging in an old external HDD onto my old XBOX360. Formatted it in FAT32, booted up my XBOX but... it won't show up?! (Except the usual storage, 120GB)

Plugged in another HDD and that one WOULD show up (but it contains important stuff like movies and the such.......)

What did I do wrong? (USB cable works normally btw)

Hi! :3 What HDD is this? Make sure the console is up-to-date and that the drive is less than 2TB - since above capacities may cause compatibility issues.

Does it show up if you try formatting it via the console instead?

    • Plug the disk drive in the Xbox 360
    • Go to Settings & Storage on the dashboard
    • Select the drive (if it's there) and use the format option (data will be erased)

Try different ports if it doesn't show up.

Thank you, Faith! Already filled with games (installed from original game discs, not illegally!)

Just saw this message from you haha!
