I received a wireless game controller and need a great car racing game

Hi all -

A bit of pleasure, I hope.

I was given a nice Logitech wireless game controller and would like a top-notch car racing game to go with it.
Problem is that a couple of them (from what I hear) won't work on build 2004 just yet, like Forza.

Recommendations welcome.

Hiya! I don't know if all of these will work with your controller (I use an Xinput Xbox One controller from Microsoft), but I can easily recommend them.

Project Cars 2 - Mix of bunch of different driving disciplines with semi-realistic driving handling. Works great for gamepads too.

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Probably the best rally racing game out there right now.

Assetto Corsa Competizione - Official GT series racing game, and it's very authentic. Gamepad works fine for it.

F1 2019 (2020 is out in July) - Official F1 racer and has a good career and progression.

Any great racing/driving games in a city instead of a track?

Oh! I don't play much 'street racers' - other than the Forza Horizon games (probably the best in their class right now) -, but I do know of a few that I like personally, and from friends.

Need For Speed Heat - This one combines illegal and legal street racing. More 'arcadey' than forza in handling. EA tried to compete with Forza Horizon with Need for Speed Payback in 2017, but dunno how good it is. I immediately blocked it once I knew of its gambling features on upgrade car parts, which they may or may not have removed.

Burnout Paradise Remastered - Very fast arcade-style racing game with takedowns and crashing.

The Crew - Entire America for you to race and explore in. The Crew 2 have more vehicles (planes and boats) if you're into that, but I found it very shallow. Note that both games run on servers and need online connections.

Down the ladder I find many average and mediocre racing games imo. There's very little competiton on street racers unfortunately, or at least not many that succeeds. Rockstar games had a game called Midnight Club: Los Angeles, which was awesome! but it's not on PC I think.

Need For Speed - Payback - not too old, Racing, Drifting, Drag Racing, Runner & Speedcross

Need For Speed - Most Wanted - Racing around a city

Race Room - free on steam but you buy all the dlc's cheap & have a few cars with the game but track based. more of a sim racing game so can be hard not to get penalties per lap
