Problem with Motion blur with counter strike

Hello I started a thread elsewhere, but as my issue is more specific to my monitor, would like some advice through the gaming forum.

the issue relates, I assume to the monitor Asus TUF GAMING VG249Q 23.8" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor

I play mainly Counter strike and to improve my gaming experience, put together the PC detailed above. Unfortunately, I am experiencing motion blur, I feel very unhappy, having spent so much to have this disappointment.

i did a lot of research before committing to the components I used, I finally went for a 1080 monitor as opposed to a 1440, as advice I received said this would be a better option, especially for FPS......is it because I chose an IPS panel ??? Need some advice as what to do. I am able to return the monitor, if it is believed I have made a wrong choice.

Hi reddwarf. You can enable elmb through the display buttons on your monitor to counter ghosting and motion blur. You can achieve 1ms* on your monitor through elmb, however it's not adviced to try to go that low because it will overshoot and cause coronas instead depending on the quality and accuracy of the display. I believe you can make a balanced setting in the menu on your monitor. Also make sure you're running it in 144Hz. Regarding IPS, yes, they tend to give out more blur than TN panels. For FPS games like counter strike, TN panels are objectively better than IPS in terms of speed, but they don't succeed in much else. IPS panels are seen as an 'all-rounder', with better color accuracy than both TN and VA for example. But try elmb modes first before returning it.

What I did not tell you about is my monitor is just a Samsung LED TV which is also a monitor as I wanted Sound & maybee wanted to use it as a TV backup display as well & I purchased this back in 2012 & it still works as good as the day I purchased it.
Also I purchased a 60" Plasma in 2012 (LG make) & that only lasted 6 years before the yellow stains appeared on the screen but that was my gaming monitor & main TV, good times for gaming & films but now just using my Samsung 24" LED TV.
The 4k monitor I had just before Xmas 2020 was an Samsung LED TV & as with all my TV'S I have only had motion blur through game settings.
