1 game on D: Drive but very slow

Hello! I run only 1 game on the D: drive of my Windows 10 computer, and my C: drive is about 75% full. However, when I run the game that is on my D: drive, it acts as though the memory is full-the game is good for about 5 minutes, then the FPS drops to, like, 0.5 frames a second. My computer has had other memory issues with games recently, and I haven't even had it for a year yet. I want to know-why is the game on my D drive dragged down, when I haven't used even 25% of D drive's storage, and how can I fix it?

In order to adequately diagnose your issue we need full system specs otherwise it's just a guessing game. Please update system specs to also include the specific game(s) you're having issue with.

    Thanks

Dell G3 15 is my computer, and I've had it since last February. It has 119GB of storage in the C: drive and 931 in D:. The game I use is Forza Horizon 4, and that's on D: drive and currently the only thing there.

Please look at my system specs (My Computer) to get an idea what we mean by system specs.

    Ok.

First off you've nowhere near 120 (119) gig of memory. What you are stating is drive size. Looking at the specs of that notebook Dell G3 15 Gaming Laptop shows the most memory that notebook came with is 16gig. With that (given what you did post spec wise) I'm going to assume this is the one you have - Dell G3 15 Gaming Laptop

All that out the way, two suggestions first...

    1. Go to Dell's website and find the latest drivers for your notebook - start here for driver support (sorry I don't know your exact model number)
    2. Make sure you have the latest patches for your game - Go here for Forza Horizon 4 support (sorry didn't see patches)

So I downloaded the latest drivers, and nothing for the game was new (thanks!). But after about 7 minutes of gameplay, the game stuttered and then became, as usual, unusable and frozen. This happens with other games that I use, but they are in the C: drive. I've used 85.6 GB (~72%) of available GB on the C: drive.

Which version of Windows 10 do you have? Right click Start, click Run, type "winver" (without quotes)…

64 or 32 Bit? ... Control Panel > System, look under System type.

Sounds like your drive is partitioned as C: and D: [with a couple three other unlettered partitions] on 1 drive like mine, 1TB with C: at 150GB and D: at 780GB. In practical terms the read/write heads are working at finding all the data the programs need and can tend to be a bit slower. Also possible is the drive is slowing down as it warms up, I'd use a can of compressed air to blow any dust out. If you have pets their fine hair can get into it.
