Obnoxious ads in Microsoft Solitaire games (1909?)

Obnoxious, very loud, very long ads play about every other time that I start Microsoft Solitaire games. It seems like you have to sit through several minutes of these ads until you can play a game. I think this all started for me when I upgraded from 1809 to 1909.

Any way to bypass or cut short these ads?

Just get the classic games instead:

I payed for the Non add one, 3 years ago. Only got one update notice. It is worth it. The classic Solitaire was good but I hardly ever won it.

I don't see any adds on Microsoft Solitare collection maybe because I'm on Win10 Pro,
or I have an ad blocker "EdgeAdblock_10" .bat & host file that even blocks internal Microsoft adds?

I just realized the 1909 upgrade did not uninstall Windows 7 games. Still working.

For a higher percentage of winning with the Windows 7 solitaire game,
switch the option to draw one card at a time, instead of three.
Almost anyone will be able to hit a 40% to 50% win percentage. :)

    Correction

    Ah-ha!
The reason I don't see adds is because Microsoft has given me a free week of
    Microsoft Solitaire Collection Premium Edition.
After that expires, the adds will come back.

lol I think Microsoft knows. I ran Solitaire to find out if mine had ads as I'm on Windows Pro but they offered me a free week of premium!

I'm the OP of this thread and I'm also on Windows Pro 1909.

There is a way to block those ads but I don’t think it’s allowed here to say how.

Just like the quote in the cartoon show Futurama with Prof. Farnsworth:

Nothing is impossible! Not if you can imagine it.
That's what being a scientist is all about!

    Hi there

    @x509

Just use the free package kpatience available in a Linux distro and run in a VM or use WSL on Windows and install - it's a bit fiddly using WSL to get some GUI apps but it's doable. A VM is the easiest.

Then ad free, no ad blockers needed and decent games too. The old W7 stuff I think works as well --always good to have multiple choices.
