The Sims 2 Slow Launching
I know this game is very old, however I once upon a time had it running perfectly and smoothly with Windows 10. I hadn't opened or played the game in awhile so I cannot say exactly when the issue started, but the other day I noticed a long launching time after double clicking the icon. Now I've already run threw a lot of the Settings for TS2 in order to get it running smoothly. For example adding my Graphics Card to the Video Cards.sgr so the game recognizes my graphics card. I've also fiddled with the Graphics Rules.sgr so that I can increase the screen resolution, texture memory, and tweak a couple other things. The version I'm using has zero SecuRom. I even double checked with the SecuRom removal tool. My version of TS2 is threw origin and origin is already running in the background so it's not like I have to wait for it to run before the game. Also the game has a slow launch every single time I launch it, not just the first time. I do have the game on my second drive which is an internal 1TB HDD. I had thought maybe that second drive was sleeping, but now I'm not so sure. I have a lot of my programs/games installed on this second drive and I don't have any slow launching with them as far as I can tell. After the game is fully launched and running the game runs very fast and smoothly. It is actually running faster than I've had it running before (probably the increased texture memory that I just tweaked most recently).
I'm mostly wondering if there is a way I can increase the launching time. If I can troubleshoot why it's doing this and fix it. I'm running Windows 10 version 1903 and I've seen others mention problems with this version so I don't know if I'm affected by it or not.
