It is like that on all Gaming platform. Battle.net is worse. One would think that The NSA hosts games???
Generally speaking, I am not interested in gaming. I am especially not interested in the most popular form of gaming, killing people for fun in various "kill everything that moves" games. I simply fail to see any entertainment value in killing.
Anyway, browsing the web today, I saw this, and thought I might check a kind of game I have never used / played:

Might be better that after 3 - 4 minutes of clicking those CAPTCHA images, I just gave up. If it is this impossible to sign up, I really do not need nor want it. Even when it's free.

You have never heard of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) before? It's a well established game series from the late 90's that's been in many controversial issues over the decades regarding violence in video games on mainstream media. GTA 5 is a game that has sold 100 million copies by now. You don't need to follow gaming news or even like games to know GTA. Even the name gives it away what it's all about:
What Is Grand Theft Auto? Defenses? Punishment? :: Manhattan Beach, California Theft Defense Lawyers Greg Hill & AssociatesGrand theft auto, also referred to as “GTA,” is not just a video game. Rather, it is known as vehicle theft and / or just auto theft. It defined as the unauthorized taking of another’s car with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the car.
If you are concerned about any form of killing then you should probably stay away. GTA is a mature game for mature people, and it's not shy to show violent scenes. Though it's a shame if you judge it because of the rating because the game is really good, has an amazing story and entertaining characters. Rockstar Games is one of the leaders of excellent story telling and writing in the gaming industry. The violence isn't over-the-top, but more refined and 'realistic', like if you steal a car and you accidentally ride someone over. The game use euphoria engine for physics and it can look rather realistic in how people behave when you do something violent.
Of course I have heard about it, that's why I decided to test it when I saw that offer for a free game. But, as I really do not follow gaming news, I have always thought it was about stealing a car, and trying to escape the police. That's it.
OK, let's agree about this: according to your comment, I am not mature because, especially after you told me what's it all about, I do not intend to test it because I know it would make my stomach hurt, make me feel uncomfortable. I fail to see what's mature in killing, but I have to believe you, take your word: it's mature.
And, a question to both Josey and you: Could you please explain to me, how on earth should I have understood from the game title "Grand Theft Auto" that it involves killing? For me, a non-native English speaker, it just means stealing a car.

Back to the topic: I cannot understand that this game company has made it practically impossible to sign up.
