Far Cry 5: any reliable cheat for captive sequences?

I was enjoying FC5 until I met the first of I believe 9 unskippable capture sequences, which seem to be a time-limited spray & pray, run & gun setup.

One or two I can hold my nose and grind, but nine! I gave up in disgust a few months ago. I'd like to play it thru sometime tho, cos there's a lot to like in the other 99% of it.

I'm well used to using mods for games, but I've avoided cheats so far because of some warnings I read about they being suspect, eg possibly with malware attached.

So I'm looking for cheat sources you can recommend as having a good reputation—better still of course if you can recommend a cheat for my specific need—to skip or breeze thru the captive sequences.

Yea, I know what sequences you are talking about and they started to become really annoying after the second or third time for me. I was playing on hard, pushed through it (stealthly when possible), but I didn't use any cheats. All cheats for this game leads me to downloads, so I suspect there are no cheat codes in this game. There are a few trainers too apparently, but this game utilizes EAC so download them at your own risk, I don't recommend it personally, but WeMod seems popular. Just remember to NOT play online while using trainers or cheats. Best advice I have here without cheats is to play on easy and just run & gun your way through it. Easy mode is, well, easy, so it shouldn't be a problem for the average user. They aren't that long if you run for it.

Thanks Faith—how are John & Jacob?

I never play online, and avoid trainers, so ok on those scores. I got WeMod a while back, and will probably go with that.

I usually play easy first, then medium, then hard—so this was on easy. I guess it's the total disregard for the player which annoyed me so much—advertised as 'your game, your way', and then this rubbish. Like watching a romcom & suddenly the first slasher interlude appears.

Similar effect to the Quick Time Events in FC3, which have put me off playing the main story any time I've replayed it.

I did a bit of investigating and WeMod has a pretty good reputation. With nearly 4M users, I guess there would be a lot of noise if there was a problem—gamers aren't shy about criticizing :)

Here's the WeMod Trustpilot page, an example of the generally positive ratings I found.

Ha! It didn't occur to me immediately that there's a Faith in FC5, that's funny. You will see what happens to us when you get to the end.

You are definitely more hardcore than me regarding QTEs in FC3 and the shenanigans in FC5, but I know what you mean. games marketing are all over the place. The advertising doesn't tell much really. Just look at the marketing lead-up to Anthem - "Our world, my story". Anyway, you should be able to run WeMod since it's that popular then. Make sure you get it directly from them. And you may need to do some tinkering with the EAC judging by the community.

Well I finally got playing again :)

WeMod didn't work out for me—I forget why, probably my fault. I got a bit of free time recently and checked out a couple of promising mods. The one which does the trick is…
    FC5 Resistance Mod
…which, among lots of other things, allows you to control Resistance Points.

Resistance Points are what determine your story progress thru each of the FC5 regions. You earn them in the usual way, mostly just by playing the game. Each region has 3 'markers' on your RP score bar—each time you hit a marker, you get captured & go thru the BS spoken about in the earlier posts. That's at least 9 such events, and there may be more before you take out Joseph.

Resistance Mod enables you to change the points awarded for each play 'achievement'—so eg instead of 200 points for destroying an enemy transport, you can make it 2 points. One caution: don't make the points changes until you've completed the initial Dutch's Island work, or you'll never be able to leave the island—and you'll have to go thru the whole painful unskippable restart & intro sequences again.

Another change you'll want to make is unlocking all weapons from the start, since otherwise you'll never get those which require some number of RPs.

Left like this, you'll never be able to complete the story—which is fine by me. I assume you can change the points back when you're ready—ramp 'em way up should activate all the captures in sequence I guess, for anyone who wants to go thru that.
