    Microsoft Games Problems

The AD infested Microsoft Games, Solitaire Collection and Ultimate Word Games, both crash when the ADS have played and have crashed/frozen during their play, and have crashed/froze before they have played.

It's about time Micro$oft accepted the fact that they cannot get it right, and abandon the idea of holding their customers to "ransom", to spend their hard earned cash to get rid of the multitude of ADS in their games.

Games crashing on the Microsoft Store is nothing new. There's a lot of reasons for this, but in this case it's an issue with a specific ad(s) making these games crash. Not sure why. I'm surprised Microsoft haven't fixed this because it has been an issue since 2015. There's not much you can do in this situation other than to try forcing a different ad by hitting the back arrow or minimize/refocus the app screen while the ad is playing.

Sorry to say, but the original "games" in older Windows versions were not thought to be pastime killers, but were tools on how to use the new technology of the "mouse", and training tools how to use the, then new, Windows UI.

Somewhat like the cleaning Karate kid did, to train muscle memory to learn how to defend himself.

Everyone now knows how to use a mouse and a windowed OS, so why shouldn't Microsoft make a few $$$ for people who want to kill time?

    Just sayin'

    More on the above:

While many believe that Solitaire was designed to flaunt an interactive digital deck of cards, the game was actually created to familiarize computer users with the 'drag and drop' feature of the mouse.

Solitaire is a card game that has existed since the late 1700s and is the oldest Windows game and dates back to the 3.0 version released in 1990.

Minesweeper, the logic-based game, originally made its first appearance in the late 1960s but was introduced on the Windows 3.1 version in 1992.

Microsoft say that Windows developers wanted users to develop speed and precision when using the mouse and making left and right clicks a natural habit.

Hearts, introduced on 1992's Windows for Workgroups 3.1 - the first version built for networks - was there to get people introduced in networking: you could communicate with other Hearts clients on a LAN.
