And the .348 update does have both Retpoline and a bug with games causing performance issue. I think we can safely say it's Windows Update - .348 update in particular - that is causing your problem. It's the only recent issue that seems related to yours when I asked or searched around. Interestingly I don't have this update. I think it's not part of a critical rollout-phase by Microsoft. If it were it would probably be much more widespread. I will definitely avoid this one.
Yes, after trying all those updates, it's now certain that something in 348 is screwed up, just don't know if it's Retpoline or what it's supposed to fix. Exactly same problem with Skippy build, last one and one before that. Hoping they'll fix it in proper release or before, will probably see it first in Fast and Skippy builds. In mean time I stopped updates in this regular build to .253.

Maybe this will be fixed in tomorrows CU. I am also having some issues with games in .348.

If they release this update later today as part of the cumulative experience and games are still broken I am going to be furious.

It's mentioned in todays CU. Is it better for you?

It may be OK now, I had some other issues that may have caused it.

Well, I just updated fro 17763.107 to 168 and didn't loose any performance. Going to install next one now.
    PS. 194 and still good.
    195 and still good.
253, still OK. going for next one as soon as i do backup.
Last check, 348 is the culprit, going back to 253 and wait for next update and see what will happen.
I am having similar issues with latest windows update, can you advise how can I uninstall the latest update and revert back to previous version. The games I could play before won't pass the loading screen or not even start throwing fatal error on screen.

Right now I am at 17763.379
