Using a PC with my Samsung 4K TV

The stats of my PC are included with my profile, and my tv is a 2017 Samsung 4K UHD TV (Model Number: UN40MU6300FXZA, Serial Number: 06LD3CFJB11187T); I tried hooking my PC to my tv thinking my nvidia gtx 650 ti video card could handle it, but either it was a configuration goof in my PC, or a setting on my tv, but when I booted it up and switched my tv's source to PC, it only showed a green screen, no boot up sequence, no "Windows Loading" message, just a long boot, then green screen

If there's settings I need to change on both my TV and my PC to fix this green screen, what would I need to change for my TV and PC to work together? I want to see the graphical difference (if there will be any when gaming/watching videos) between a 1080p 24" dell monitor, and my Samsung 4K TV

According to NVIDIA's website, the 650 Ti supports 4k:

    4K | Supported GPUs | GeForce

Try downloading the latest drivers using your dell monitor then hook your system to your TV after doing so.

thing is, I DID have the latest drivers at that time, and I got the green screen. and I updated my computer with the newest stable drivers yesterday (update/driver package 417.35), but I still don't think it's as simple as plug and play in this case

I need to get some sleep, got stuff to do tomorrow, but ill set everything on my tv's HDMI 3 to standard picture quality (no udh enable, no hdr mode, no game mode), see if that does anything; if I still get the green screen of uncooperative-ness, it has to be a setting I need to change in my computer

    Hi there
You might need to change settings on the TV -- try setting picture first to 1920 X 1080 and play around with frequencies.
Get at least one resolution to work before trying the highest quality stuff and only change 1 item at a time.

PC resolution should also be set to what the video monitor expects. Also are you using correct cables -- for 4K UHD you'll probably need HDMI cables with the latest specification or it won't work.

    Cheers
