I am a bit afraid of Epic/Steam taking timed-exclusive rights to titles enticing their services because of this war. I really don't want 20 different clients installed on my PC for 20 different games because every publisher wants full control over their games so they can charge and do whatever they want to.

That's one of the benefit from this. Free games. But I mean we've seen this before with EA, and now with Bethesda and Activision offering games only on their platforms. Ubisoft may follow this trend in the future. And once the train keeps going we may see a ton of platform clients from each publisher. It's bit of a weird and conflicting situation for me because I like competition, it's good, but I also dislike launching more than one app to play games. Since I started my digital collection on Steam in 2004/05, that's the place I buy most games, even if I do have all the clients installed.

I prefer Steam too, but am willing to use others so I dont miss out on their games, I think Half Life 2 on day one is when I started using Steam. Now I have 82 games on it. Seems like a lot but I see others with more.

PS.. I really like your sig @Faith
