Torn between some gaming laptops [HELP]

    Hey guys,

I'm having trouble deciding on which laptop to buy. I've narrowed it down to 3 models, all different brand, all similar, but different specs. The later 2 are slightly older 7th gen i7 models, but that doesn't bother me, 7th gen is fantastic IMO.

My only main concern is that they need to support GTX 1060 or higher. Can someone tell me what's a more reliable brand out of these 3? What are your thoughts on them?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

The third link doesn't work. I wanted to see what the "gigaby..." part was, whether gigabyte or more properly gigabit for Ethernet connection to the Router.

What is the budget for the new machine? I've not had the money but have heard some of the Alienware [now owned by Dell] were good but pricey.

I would highly consider a Sager gaming laptop, if a laptop is what you really want. I bought my Sager NP9876 last May for around 4K from XoticPC, I'm very happy with it. I customized as many components as I could fit in my budget. Not cheap, but worth it. Don't skimp on components if you can, go above the baseline that is offered as long as it doesn't break your wallet. And definitely get an extended warranty and insurance, you'll be needing it if things go south.

I would stay away from "bling" brands like MSI and Alienware, you get less bang for the buck compared to Sager, and cooling generally isn't as good. They mostly just "look pretty". Good cooling is obviously very important.

Sager is like a McLaren dressed as a Porsche, they focus more on the power under the hood, instead of trying to look fancy. I do get stares when I bring my laptop in hotel lobbies, coffee shops, etc, but that's mainly because it's so massive. I don't particularly care about whether others are awed by how it looks.

Yes, I could have built a desktop for alot less, but they're not mobile, and I'm a laptop kind of guy, always on the move, and I like to game where ever I go.

Well, I'll have to put my 2 cents worth on Asus ROG notebooks. If you get a good one they are great, if you get a problematic one Asus Support really sucks. The G75VW I bought back in 2012 is still running after 2 RMA early on. My sister is still using it. The G752VY I bought in Dec 16 has been problem free to this point. Should you want to consider A ROG notebook I highly recommend you go to the ROG forum and see what problems are coming up on which models before you buy Notebooks When you in those forums keep in mind that Asus Sell many thousand of notebook and most prople don't find those forums unless they have an issue.

    Hi there

what's the weight of those things (Sager laptops) -- especially if you have any sort of sensible size screen on it. I'm getting to an age where every gram counts when I'm travelling - also loading humps of stuff into a backpack doesn't do backs any good as you get older --it's not only sub 14 year olds who use gaming machines.

    Cheers

@jimbo45: My Sager weighs about 12 pounds, but closer to 18 pounds if you count the 2 power bricks. I also carry it around in a military grade black Pelican 1520 reinforced case, which is watertight, shock-resistant, and crush-resistant. It beats any gaming backpack out there in terms of protection. On the inside is cubed foam which I have cut to fit with a boxcutter knife, to fit the exact dimensions of my laptops and bricks. It's overkill, but I don't literally carry it, I drive it around in my car. Weight is no real obstacle for me, I prefer raw power over size. I do get lots of stares when people see the box and what is inside it. Totally worth it if you ask me.
