    Yeah ryzen is good for streaming, or when multi-threading is needed, but intel is still better in games usually so far as i know, didn't pay attention to hw more closely long time. Consider cs go, it is still only direct 9 and since panorama update game is more demanding and therefore you get less fps, also it doesn't utilize multicore well, only 1-2 cores max out and other are barely touched. So only cpu freq matters in this case and high speed ram. 2080 should get you also more boost than 1080 in sc2, not sure in cs go. Or for other 2000 series card and high speed ram and great deal in games which can't take advantage of multicore. Nvidia is in treat, thats probably why i heard new nvidia gpus will be cheaper, but who knows, not by much probably...

    Btw i expected people will share some hidden tweaks noone knows, but nada so far. I made this for purpose, so people write more, which are not listen in guide.

    Good god. I admire anyone who read through that entire guide. Honestly that post is so unwieldy it's basically become ineffective

    BTW here's my gaming guide I did over at sevenforums some years back. Short by your standard

    Yeah i know, i am vehement writer, but there are really powerful tweaks, not some placebo, or garbage. I will yet reformat it, when i feel like it. Good guide, but your guide is about troubleshooting game issues, my guide is about tweaking to get extra ms out of your system, for example if you use ultra low latency mode on ultra setting and you gpu isn't used at 99%, you more latency that with 1 pre-rendered frame, which is now called on.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\PriorityControl]
    "Win32PrioritySeparation"=dword:00000018

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
    "DisablePagingExecutive"=dword:00000001
    "LargeSystemCache"=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters]
    "Size"=dword:00000003

    Misc Tweaks

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters]
    "EnablePrefetcher"=dword:00000000

    Services I Disabled

    Connected User Experiences and Telemetry
    Diagnostic Policy Service
    Geo Location
    Payments and NFC/SE Manager
    SysMain
    Windows Font Cache Service
    Windows Search

    Disabling services depends on what services are set to automatic and running but the ones I posted for disabling are usually set to automatic and running.

    Services Set To Automatic

    Program Compatibility Assistant Service
    Human Interface Device Service
    Windows Time

    Virtual Memory

    Minimum = 1500
    Maximum =5000

    I disabled System Restore and cortana
    (Preferably using Gpedit)

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore]
    "DisableConfig"=dword:00000001
    "DisableSR"=dword:00000001

    Disable Cortana

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search]
    "AllowCortana"=dword:00000000

    Win32threadsepartion i have on foreground programs in control panel, dunno reg value.

    Paging executive i have on 1!
    Largesystem cache is useless, if you have ssd! It just wears it down.
    Yep prefetcher 0.

    I disable same services except:
    Payments and NFC/SE Manager
    and Display policy service (should be harmless to disble it, but i am very careful these days)
    Hid = huge lag, but no keyboard special keys don't care...
    Windows time??? LOL Correctly synchronized time was even correlated to input lag (not sure about that)

    Virtual memory i had 800-3200, now system managed, because memory compression in windows, you get error out of memory, even with 16GB ram, ram is slowly filled with stand-by memory and than windows tries supposedly compress memory and that cause problems instead of memory leak. ISLC causing freezes, each time it clears stand-by memory, you need at least 32GB ram probably to use that effectively. I have also enabledc learpagefileatrestart, since my NVME has lifespan 1000TB, passwords can be left in pagefile, although i don't know if this is treat only in case of physical access to disk?

    I disable system restore too, except when i uninstall programs etc. Also disable scheduled defrag!

    You can disable automatic maintenance too, causing slow restart, but it works only when pc is idle so.

    Also you can disable auditing of successful events, don't know command from head...

    Don't need registry values for system restore probably, dunno.

    Cortana cannot be disabled, or you lose start menu, but windows suspends it, so it shouldn't consume any cpu cycles most of the time. Also you can disable explorer when gaming and clear type.

    Possible to disable dwm, risky and can break your pc. Or after next update it won't work and break your pc I'M SO CLOSE TO FINISHING MY INPUT LAG! - Blur Busters Forums So backup is needed. Also useful tweaks from hardware specialist in that thread.

    Also recommend this thread!!!
    Page 81, you can disable usb interrupt moderation, shouldn't be needed on intel and is very risky, you need to be 200% sure, you can ask there ucode.

    Also this thread very good!
    You can even backup individual registry key/subkeys, so you can restore it later. Should backup registry always, unless you are 100% sure.

    Try Reduce Memory or Cleanmem.

    You have 2 options:

    Clear Virtual Memory Pagefile at Shutdown in Windows 10

    Enable or Disable Virtual Memory Pagefile Encryption in Windows 10

    Does this delete standby memory? If so, in process of deleting it, it will cause a freeze. I used ISLC, or process lasso and it doesn't work. Supposedly problem is not even memory leak, as it is good to contain all ram. But problem starts, when you run out of ram - Windows tries to compress memory and that is creating problems and will crash your program with message: "out of memory".

    Even without clearing page file, stand-by memory fills quickly in matter of like 5 minutes? This is not problem.

    Lol this isn't encrypted by default? I read unencrypted passwords can be stored in page file, wtf? I have it currently to clear on shutdown, but didn't have encryption on

    When it comes to prefetcher I've noticed when set to 1 and sysmain to automatic and running my programs launch faster/smoother so believe it or not prefetcher improves program launch on hdd,ssd and m.2 . Also when prefetcher is set to one I noticed leaving Win32PrioritySeperation at 2 for weak cpu's and 18 for powerful cpu's.

    Just those couple of tweaks and disabling of system restore, defragment schedule,disk indexing, and some services works pretty good also

    And I also figured out disabling the page file is pointless. I say pointless because I had my page file disabled for a couple months and I was like ehh I'll turn my page file and so how it goes, well after setting the min and max of the page file I go to see and I get this notification about overwriting my page file Whhhhhat!!!! So regardless of if you have the page file disabled windows creates a page file. So system managed or 1500 min and 5000 max is one of the settings I'll have on my machines

    Prefetcher should have minimal performance improvement on ssd, in benchmark it showed 3MB/s for me It only wears down ssd! But today ssd last quite long, so that shouldn't even matter as much i think.
    Some motherboards also have program to pre-load frequently used programs into ram - check it out.

    Weird, i never had created page file, after disabling it.

    I disabled my page file for testing purposes and then turned it back on which is how I found out windows creates a page file even if it's disabled
