star trek online crash to desktop

so, for the past week, every few days, I'm suddenly kicked to desktop, the game window vanishes, and it presents me with a crash dialogue telling me my graphics card was unplugged/hung.

I've tried everything I can think of, verified the game files, verified I had the right gpu card drivers, did a reinstall of the game...

every time this happens, I restart the computer, which clears the ram and seems to address the problem..temporarily.

I'm not sure if its something with my system, or something introduced in one of the last couple updates..

anyways, here's my dxdiag as the first step to figuring this out.

ok...so it seems this MIGHT possibly be a conflict with google chrome.now, I am aware browsers are largely increasingly dependent on graphics cards for gpu acceleration of various elements....so the idea is maybe its an unintended conflict with the game trying to address to something the browser is dependent on?

note, my issue is graphics related..not sound, as this user says in that thread I linked to.

I used to run chrome while sto(star trek online) was up, but not since it started crashing when I had chrome already up or after I opened chrome while the game was running..

startrek online is the only game that does this. I ran kerbal space program(way more demanding than sto) with chrome up, not even a twitch, same with starwars the old republic.

right now I have firefox and sto up at the same time and she's rock solid.

at this point..I believe it could either be a resource issue..ergo chrome and sto trying to use the same resources, or the driver twigging out with sto and chrome up at the same time, though I dont think so..if the driver hung, well, my screen would go black briefly and I'd get the device disconnected noise. I havent gotten that yet.

that said, how would I go about getting my logs to attach here to this thread?

d3d9 which I take to be dirext x9 is no longer supported by startrek online.

and..I'd have to hunt down the hardware acelleration flags in chrome. this has only been happening since the 16th...the only changes I've had made to the computer were the installation of digitally signed virtual audio cables(which ended up not working right far as internet radio broadcasting work goes)

ok, ran the hp system startup diagnostics tests, all hardware came back as passed.
