Could be server latency through the Internet.

do you think it might be that given that it started immediately after the windows update and I played the game with no issues for 200 hours before that?

if it does sound like that is there anything to be done?

If others are having issues with GTA, the only thing would be if the games are hosted off of other's services and not servers that can handle the loads. Not much that you can do with remote game play. There may be an update coming for GTA that may fix the issue, but you would have to check with the website of the game company. Just keep checking the GTA forums.

You could, but it will be a matter of time that it will force itself on the machine and you are losing security fixes, along with other changes. Windows 10 is a perpetual Beta and you are going to continue to run into issues as third party software developers do not keep up with those changes that Microsoft is making. You could always get a NVIDIA shield and play GTA on it.
