Xbox One question - what if external HD fails

Hypothetical question. I have an Xbox One with meagre 500 gb internal HD. So over time I have added a couple of external drives to store games on. I just wondered, should one of these fail at any point what happens? Obviously I would replace the affected drive with a new one. But does this screw up the game library in anyway? Obviosuly the internal drive/OS stores the groups, thumbnails, basic game data and I wondered how it reacts to the absence of a drive where a game is stored on. If I added a new replacement drive how easy is it to put a game affected by this onto it and have the Xbox OS link this. Kind of hard to explain

All you would have to do is goto your game list and redownload the game. I have had several different external hard drives and works every time.
