Suggestions for an SSD for my MSI GE62VR 7RF Apache Pro ?

Suggestions for an SSD for my MSI GE62VR 7RF Apache Pro ? Bought an MSI Apache Pro back in February on sale, opted for one without SSD so I could put one of my choosing. My first gaming laptop I've owned, and when I built my PC years ago I wasn't in the market for M.2 SSD's. Any suggestions ?

Your laptop can support modern Gen 3.0 x4 m.2 drive so if you have the cash, consider the 970 evo or even pro.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage to the 970 Pro vs. the 970 EVO ? From what I am reading people say not much difference, was wondering what is the difference exactly from a spec side of things!

The pros are generally a bit faster but I doubt you'd notice it doing most tasks. I think the pro has a better life span too.

Longer warranty anyway but that doesn't always translate to longer life.

Indeed, but one would hope the pro naturally has better life span than a "reduced" version.

It's more than likely either one would outlast it's usefulness. Pro may be better in case of many writes like in business environment, but in case of home or laptop usage would probably take more than 10 years to reach any appreciable number of writes.

Hey thanks guys for the help, purchased the EVO 970! I was wondering what method you would suggest to migrate the MSI OEM image to the SSD? Usually I would just use a fresh install of Windows 10, but I want to maintain some of the core bloatware MSI ships with their laptops. =D

I used Macruim Reflect free as I make full system backups anyway. I just restored system from one installed in ordinary SSD to 960 evo and set BIOS to boot from it. took 15 minutes.
