    Occasional Freezing While Gaming

    Hello,
Right, I don't know what's going on anymore. I have just updated my BIOS to 0902 and I'm thinking this will resolve the issue. The issue is that I get occasional freezing during gaming. I have the latest Nvidia graphic's drivers (397.64), installed through "clean installation", a clean boot done yesterday through Windows 10. Everything in my BIOS is set to default value's, nothing's overclocked :) Chipset, audio, lan, WiFi and all other driver's are up to date from Asuses website. I do have a restore point made especially for any error's, backed up my C: drive and an Window's system repair disc. System restore doesn't resolve the issue.
My computer specification's are as listed. Can anyone please tell me what's wrong? I'm sorry, if I listed this topic in the wrong section of the forum.

In what games and what graphics settings? You should describe the freezing issue in more detail if possible. You should also enable XMP - or the AMD equivalent - on your RAM to get your advertised clocks and timings by the way, or is it already running at the correct DDR speed? With that said, Windows 10 have issues with occasional freezing and stuttering in games because of bloated background services and bugs, it's well documented. I'm not sure if you're facing some of them here, but you can start with changing the graphics settings to see if it has any effect. Definitely swap to DX11 if the game supports DX12 because the API is known to have issues in almost all games that supports it, then disable background stuff you don't need, and slowly move over to disabling services that are known to cause issues, e.g the Xbox gamebar overlay and the fullscreen optimization.

    Thanks for the reply :)
Unfortunately, my motherboard doesn't recognize the XMP profile listed on Goodram manufacturer, thus I would have manually overclock the ram, which means, as I checked already yesterday thoroughly, it's impossible just manage it without manipulating the cpu. I'm not going to overclock the entire system, not for a long time either. Secondly, I would probably notice, to my eye, no difference in terms of performance on 3000mhz, since I'm running on 2666mhz on default. I thought everything would be alright, when I would set to higher speed in the beginning, but I was encountering major issues with booting the system and maintaining it's overall performance. The BIOS doesn't set automatically the desired voltage for increased speed and all other related settings. The timing's for 2666mhz performance are set by default within the motherboard and to be honest, I'm completely clueless on changing them. I will not touch anything within those setting's. One thing I did noticed, the BIOS set them accordingly as to what the manufacturer has listed for AMD 1950X, so I'm thinking everything is alright thus far.
Well, since I updated to BIOS 0902, nothing is freezing anymore :) However, I still can't get Fifa 18 to run, as it crashes to desktop, when I want to proceed to another game in career mode. The Witcher 2, doesn't load at all from the launcher, it's just stuck at the logo. DOOM, COD: Black Ops, Resident Evil 6 & Fallout: New Vegas, are running on the highest settings possible and with no problem, as so far. I've contacted EA & CD Project for support, but as far I as know, EA are amateurs of programming and are selling products with endless bug's I'm awaiting for a reasonable response from CD Project.
I will disable some of the service's you listed such Xbox game-bar overlay. What exactly is full-screen optimization?

Here's a link on how to disable and/or remove the Xbox features that you can follow: How to disable and remove the Xbox Game bar in Windows 10 Creators Update | Windows Central

Fullscreen optimization is there to create faster performance in fullscreen applications, in theory, but it's known to create issues: Enable or Disable Fullscreen Optimizations in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

But honestly I don't think these are your issues. You may want to re-install the applicable Microsoft redistributable components. They should be located in the game folder for Fifa, but if not you need to find the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 to 2015 on Microsofts webpage as they're being used for the game. Also, have you tried to make any changes with SMT in BIOS for your processor?

Yeah, I don't think these are my issues as you mentioned. But, I will give them a shot on, in my free time SMT is in other words, virtualization? If it's that, nope, I would need to enable it in BIOS.

No I mean simultaneous multi-threading (SMT). Some games have issues launching when it detects an abundance of threads. Standard TR is at 16/32 core/thread count. Disabling SMT will halve this to 8/16. You can always enable SMT if it doesn't work, but it's worth a shot if everything else fails.
