Windows 10: Issue with minimizing and maximizing games

Some issues with minimizing and maximizing games

Sometimes when i maximize a game, a small messagebox with the games name and its icon appears in the top left corner on the screen, and the screen goes black for a few seconds before the game finally opens.

Also, sometimes when i minimize a game to the desktop, the sound still continues to play for a few seconds after minimizing the game.

What games are these? Sound to me that you're trying to minimize a game that's running in fullscreen. Games that run in fullscreen should not be alt-tabbed because it can cause issues and sometimes even crash the application. If you want to maximize and minimize a game while playing you need to make sure that the game is either applied in Windowed mode or that it fully supports alt-tab functions correctly, which not all games do when running in exclusive fullscreen mode.

Pretty much all my games has this issue.

Dota 2 is the only game i play that minimizes and maximizes instantly without any issues.

And in what display mode are Dota 2 and the other games running in? A screen that goes black in your situation means that it applied a change in the refresh rate, so the monitor needs to re-adjust everytime you try to minimize it. This should not happen in windowed mode because you're forcing the game to use the desktop settings. You can also try to disable focus assist if the issue persists.

Im trying the focus assist option right now, i will get back with the results.

Alright, so turning focus assist off seems to have reduced the time it takes for my games to minimize and maximize, but i still get the annoying messagebox in the top left corner of the screen. I would also like if all my games would minimize and maximize instantly, but its a step in the right direction.

Sadly, i havent found a way to fix the problem.

It helps to disable focus assist in windows, but it doesnt solve the problem completely.
