Will bluetooth be viable for gaming some day?

I'm not sure if it's just me, but i get a 1 second delay in my bluetooth headphones when playing games. I have tested it with many different headphones, and i always seem to get the same result.

All but 1 of my Notebooks with Bluetooth have it on the Wireless/Wi-Fi card which may contribute to a slowness or conflict. I have 1 Notebook, Dell Vostro 1510, that the Bluetooth doesn't work but added a USB dongle to get the feature, seems a bit better than the other Notebooks. My main desire is in freeing up a USB port needed for Wireless mice, Bluetooth being built in helps lots.

I have disabled the bluetooth networks that i could find. I have also disabled bluetooth collaboration from my wireless network card, as it seems to be causing problems for some users. I tested it without improvements. Also, I have been testing a lot of bluetooth equipment, and it has been performing really bad for gaming, so it's not worth it right now.

BT 5 is a lot faster greater range
The official Bluetooth marketing material from the Bluetooth standard organization advertises that Bluetooth 5.0 has four times the range, two times the speed, and eight times the broadcasting message capacity of older versions of Bluetooth. Again, these improvements apply to Bluetooth Low Energy, ensuring devices can take advantage of them while saving power.
With Bluetooth 5.0, devices can use data transfer speeds of up to 2 Mbps, which is double what Bluetooth 4.2 supports. Devices can also communicate over distances of up to 800 feet (or 240 meters), which is four times the 200 feet (or 60 meters) allowed by Bluetooth 4.2. However, walls and other obstacles will weaken the signal, as they do with Wi-Fi.

I first got acquainted with Bluetooth when I got a MacBook Pro [it died a year ago] and 3 clients with Macs. I haven't looked into gaming with Bluetooth on Mac machines as to suitability for gaming although BT works good for usual computing.

I think one of the problems with bluetooth is that it runs on 2.4 ghz, which isn't the best for gaming, but i could be wrong?

That's interesting, are you saying a cable mouse is better for FPS games than bluetooth mouse?
