My son and I just had a long session pirating on the high and turbulent seas.
The weather is always changing and there really are not rules as the whole game is a PVP zone. You can be attacked while shopping or even tossing back grog at the pub
You can die in the teeth of a Megladon, get eaten by a Kracken's tentacles (they have mouths with sharp teeth), get stabbed or shot by skeletal treasure guardians, or even get your behind fried by multiple lightning strikes in a storm.
You can even die swimming out to your ship. Sharks. Sometimes many.
Storms can sink ships at sea and lightning can set a ship on fire.
Ships have to be sailed, setting the sails and steering while fighting wind and currents
The game is called Sea of Thieves and it's on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service
Why would I be talking about a game on Xbox Game Pass? I play the game with my son, he on his Xbox and me on my Windows 10 PC.
And that what's the X box Game Bar is all about. We can join each other in games even though our gaming machines are radically different. Seamlessly. And chatting, joking and even trash talking other players on the in game chat
