I also turn of Motion Blur and Film Grain....

I don't understand why either is included. Especially Film Grain.

Video games have never been film based
All videos games are to me are interactive films. So yeah, video grain can work, but to me (and as a B&W film enthusiast) it looks better in B&W. Anyway I think the goal is to provide a more dark mood in games.

I used it when I played both Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided and liked it. Didn't seem to impact performance there. Currently have it enabled in Cyberpunk.

Thanks for answering my dumb question

Of Course a video game is more than just techie stuff

I'll flip on the Film Grain in Alien: Isolation and see if it makes it more scary

While I'm happy to have provided my opinion, excuse me for not being sure if you're sincere or not in your reply.

Anyway, to grain or not is simply one of taste. You either like it or not.

    Thanks.

Sorry, wasn't disagreeing with you at all. I just hadn't thought about Film Grain changing the mood (atmosphere) of the game

With all the emphasis on frame rates and ever increasing resolution (FHD, 4K, 8K) I was just thinking it a bit peculiar

It wasn't so much about disagreeing, it was just the way you replied that threw me. All good

And yeah, that's my opinion, but....

Are you guys talking about the film grain that comes in addition to Nvidia sharpening? I found it made Evior's face in Valhalla look really spotty.

I have one game "Flying tigers, shadows over China" that has options for B&W and Sepia which has film grain. It looks like old gun camera films from WWII.
