New
#1601
well that's weird - since the last Win10 Skippy build (18875), I've not been able to log into FarCry5..??
New Dawn is running beautifully, but FC5 is being really awkward - almost as though it doesn't recognise me..
- could it be due to the fact that I recently upgraded to a 4K monitor?
- I know AMD sets great stall by its support for FarCry, so this all seems kinda strange..
- might it be Steam security-related - or a glitch with AMD's latest driver ( - vers 4.4.1) ..??
- spooky..
Does it throw up any kind of error?
I know that in the patch notes they mention that most games with the anti-cheat issue have had updates, and that that was BattlEye, but I've had issues with EasyAntiCheat, which FC5 uses, on Insider builds in the past. It could be that something in the insider build or the way it presents itself to EAC could be the issue.
I believe you may be able to play without EAC by adding "-eac_launcher" to the launch parameters, but I'm not 100% certain. I know that it worked on Watch Dogs 2 in the past when I was having EAC issues.
- I think it's something to do with the way that AMD's software communicates with the monitor..
- it runs at 75hz in 4K, though it's a very basic (cheap!) thing, it gives me good enough results..
- the "problem" appears to have solved itself, though..
- it played the FarCry5 game ok today.. (- a mystery to me why it did..)
- I forced max fps in Fallout4 by altering the prefs ini. file - and it looks really smashing..!!
- still having problems with the system though..
- Cyberlink Blu-Ray playback is being a nuisance - it's refusing to recognise disks.. (??)
- wondering if this isn't also related to the way that the GFX card communicates with the monitor..
- connected by HDMI cable at the moment.. {??}
I know a few of you guys were into Sniper Elite pretty heavy a while back. Looks like Sniper Elite V2 is getting a remaster and is now available for preorder on GOG.
