    @Kol12 Doesn't retailers give a replacement monitor while it's under repair? I wonder if you'll get the same monitor back or if it's a brand new one. Let us know.
    You mean a monitor to borrow? I have a spare Dell 24" fortunately...

    It didn't seem like the retailer would swap it out for a new one, when I asked they just said they would send it to the Asus service center. Maybe that is how Asus warranties work, repairs rather than replacements?

    It is likely they will just replace the LED panel, they only want the screen back and not the stand, accessories etc... I guess there is a possibility they may seek whole brand new screen with all the internals and housing from the Asus distributor if they have one but indications so far seem that it will be repaired rather than replaced. I know there are quite a few brand new units of this monitor in the country.

    If anyone knows whether an Asus monitor warranty procedure should be different to what I have been informed please let me know!

    I don't have any experience with Monitors, but I do with Motherboards. They try to repair it. If they can't repair it they replace it with a refurbished one. You can ask for an advanced replacement. You have to give them a credit card number in case you don't return the old one, but they will send you a new monitor before requiring you to send in the old one.

    I have done the advanced replacement with a couple of Motherboards and never had an issue with the credit card. They don't make a charge unless they don't receive your old one. I have always sent the old one back with a proof of delivery requiring a signature. Just a little insurance.

    @essenbe

    The Asus NZ service center didn't mention any advanced replacement but maybe you have to be savvy enough to ask? Are the advanced replacement's brand new? I might just ask over at the Asus/ROG forum to see if anyone knows anything more definite around Asus monitor RMA's also.

    @Kol12 As I said, I am only familiar with Motherboards. With advanced replacement Motherboards you are sent a brand new one. They never mention advanced replacement, you have to ask if it is offered.

    Not seeing any mention of advanced replacement here, maybe the advanced replacement is country specific?

    I see. I have already arranged for the monitor to be picked up next week but I suppose I can still call the Asus service center after that and see whether they can provide an advanced replacement instead of me waiting around for mine to be fixed. I'll let you know how that goes.

    We enjoyed having you. You did much better than I expected, being new to the game. You're already better than me.
