Notice the BFV FPS dips below 60 but that's at a 200% (4K) resolution scale. No stutters so far so no complaints. Running DX11 as game reviewers I looked at are recommending it with usual DX 12 stutter issues with the Frostbite engine. I haven't tried DX12 yet. Might drop the resolution scale from 4K to 2K. I should expect FPS in the high 90's at 2K from what I've read. Lots of fun.
I have tried DSR scaling and didn't notice any difference image quality wise, does it make a difference for you?
I find it makes a bit of an image quality improvement. Don't think it is anywhere near the quality of an actual 2K-4K monitor. Don't know for sure as most of my gaming friends also run with 1080P monitors. Guess I would actually have to upgrade my monitor (2K, wouldn't go 4K) to find out for sure. The resolution scaling is certainly a significant performance hit.
Do you guys mean DSR for BFV or just in general? I've seen a rise in recent titles that have a resolution scaler and supersample multiplier in it, which makes DSR obsolete in them. Does BFV have it? For 1080p monitors DSR, scaling or SSAA will make distant objects and alphas more detailed and less jagged. Dunno about shimmer or crawling though, as something that can filter each pixel from buffered frames to on screen - like temporal AA - would do a better job at it. 1440p (1.5 scaling on 1080p) + temporal filtering is really good IMO. Of course you choose what is best for you quality and performance-wise.
I was talking about in general. I have a 1440p monitor but gave it a try on some games. I dont have BFV,,,yet
BFV has an in game resolution scale setting. I moved it down from 200 to 150.
The graphics at 150 look pretty much the same to these old eyes as the 200% resolution scale. But the resolution scaling must be doing something as my FPS are much better at 150. I prefer the higher FPS so think I will stick with the 150 resolution scale.
