Yeah, I don't know why the frames drop like that other than to say all the Nvidia Game Works effects (lighting, shadows, fire, hair works, etc) are very demanding on the GPU.
Nice game play Kol12.

Tom Clancy's The Division, another one to play if you like getting shot to death, a single player can't get anywhere in tier 2.
Anyone ever played Quantum Break? it's down to $10
Haven't started the game yet but here is my Shadow of the Tomb Raider DX 12 benchmark. Game dev recommends DX12 for best performance. Happy with a 92 FPS minimum and 118 FPS average at ultra settings but do you see the stutter at about the 1.10 minute mark? Man, is Microsoft Studios the only dev who can make a good performing DX 12 title?
Notice even the CPU usage hitting 96% - 98% at times. Interesting. Hoping for no stutters in game. Ya, we will see.
Dude: if you created a Ten Forum benchmark for SOTTR for the first time I'd be on top on one of your benchmark spreadsheets. Well at least for now.
Well I am experiencing terrible stutter/judders in FFXV. It is extremely irritating and highly distracting from wanting to enjoy this game. Every few seconds it will stutter with a small frame drop. Occasionally the framerate will even halt completely, as a sharp drop all the way down to 3-5 fps for 2-3 seconds. What does that indicate? A severe bottleneck somewhere?
Bottleneck on that machine ? Not likely !!!
You have 50 times faster computer than official HW requirements.
OS: Windows 7 SP1/Windows 8.1/Windows 10 64-bit.
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2500 or AMD FX-6100 (3.3GHz or higher)
- Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, 1050, or AMD Radeon R9 280.
- RAM: 8GB Hard drive space: 100GB or higher.
- DirectX: DirectX 11.
Yes I agree CountMike that Kol12's hardware shouldn't cause a bottleneck in any game. But those system requirements are typically "marketing" so that gamers don't run away when they see the requirements. Doubt if any of those requirements (even recommended) relate to a 3440 by 1440 resolution and all graphic settings on highest.
Kol12: if you are not happy with moving the resolution scale down to 75% I suggest trying to lower some of the settings, assuming they are on highest like mine (below). If they are, I would start with lower shadow and Tram from highest to high or even average. If that doesn't smooth out FPS I would then start turning those 4 game works features off, starting with HairWorks, then VXAO and then Shadowlibs and TurfEffects. You might be able to isolate a significant culprit but still have a good looking game. Remember, that FFXV for me is only smooth at 125% resolution scale which is a bit lower that 1440P. If none of that works well "it's in the game" I would say.

I'm tending to think the game itself has some issues, is it a PC port after all isn't it? The graphics are beautiful but I don't see why so demanding. I think the 3440x1440 resolution is the killer here, kind of heartbreaking for my 1080 Ti . Lowering the graphics settings only have a minimal effect at this resolution but I will keep fiddling. What's bugging me at the moment is the hitching or stutter.. What causes a sudden halt in fps to 3-4 fps momentarily? Does the game load from disk a lot? Wonder if my hdd bandwidth is a bottleneck.
