Nice. Thought this game would be pretty graphically demanding.. Are the graphics settings dialed up?

BTW I just finished playing ROTTR about a month ago, seems like relevant transition.
Yep. Graphics are dialed up at 1080P. No in game resolution scaling on this title so you are seeing higher FPS with my system. Saw the SOTTR benchmark on you tube with a 1080 TI and 1440p monitor. Minimum FPS were 66 compared to my 92. Average was 81 compared to my 118. I would assume your numbers would be lower than the 1440P numbers.

And we don't have the Ray Tracing patch yet. I assume (hope) that doesn't reduce performance for us non RTX GPU owners.

RTX mode for Tomb Raider (ray traced shadows) will be a toggle and it will stay a toggle for pretty much any game that will support RTX in the future. Same as tessellation, screen space reflections and screen space ambient occlusion, settings you can enable or disable in almost all games today. And don't forget, we can always edit the .ini.

An RTX feature in game toggle switch. That sounds great.

Speaking of RTX seems there are some FFXV benchmarks floating around with 20XX GPUs. Hey, Kol12, maybe you need to get an RTX 2080 TI to run FFXV properly at your resolution.

Oh wow yeah maybe! I will wait to see how other upcoming games pan out on the 1080 Ti though, apparently Shadow of the Tomb Raider runs well at 3440x1440 with the 1080 Ti. I also worry about the price for the RTX cards down here in NZ when they get here, ouch!

Is Titan V the new Volta card or is there a Titan V Pascal? Or is that the Titan X?

FFXV is a game that supports DLSS, so benchmarks for a few games going forward will look weird. So take them with a grain of salt.

Titan V is Volta architecture /w tensor cores and HBM2 memory made primarily for deep learning and AI. There are two Pascal-based Titan X's, the X (with a P) came out because the 1080 Ti had better performance than the normal Titan X (without a P). The current RTX cards are running Turing, and the Volta is most likely going to mature over to the RTX and consumer family next generation on new FinFET next year. That's when I'm going to upgrade my GPU.

A lot of gamers I know laughed at the Chocobo. I found them a lot of fun to ride.

PS: re my post #495, you do know I was kidding, right? The EVGA 2080 TI FTW3 Ultra is $1,775 CDN. That's almost the price of my entire build minus the GPU. To each his/her own but h@%l will freeze over before I will pay that for a GPU.
