What Games are you playing right now? [2]

    Today I received my Thrustmaster T.16000M Flight Control System and I'd highly recommend it if you like to fly about the skies

    The Stick is super smooth and when you plug it into MS Flight Simulator 2020 it is default configured so that all the important controls ( throttle, flaps, gear ) are all default configured plus many others. The control stick uses Hall Effect sensors on the x/y axis that give over 16K levels resolution. A standard Wacom Intuos Graphics Drawing Tablet has only 4096.....

    Spent $70 for a slightly used Thrustmaster T.16000M on Amazon and on my maiden flights with the stick DID NOT CRASH ONCE..... even landed (Illegally) on the lake where I live

    The first two screen prints are of my takeoff and flight around Kwajalein Atoll
    and the second two are from around the mountain lake I live near.

    Weather is real world but the real world simulation does time of day and weather simulation only and is lacking programming for wildfires so the skies are clear rather than smokey (California is burning.... Again)

    Thanks for the article. First thing I did was buzzed my cabin at an illegally low altitude and landed on the lake with a sea plane

    The Simulator has a Drone mode for below tree level quadcopter exploring

    I can't afford FS 2020 yet for various reasons, last one I had was 2000. Don't remember exactly when it was but I got first version long ago at Toronto island airport where they had promo for it. At that time logging FS flight time counted as part of training for pilot license which I got in 1985. I had 1/2 shared in Cesna 120 which we flew around Ontario, him looking for old small diesel engines and me for classic cars.
    Btw, I soloed glider in 1968.
    One of my first stunts with FS was flying under St Louis arch and London bridge.

    @Frabnkhs,

    How complicated is that game? I mean that in a good way. Do you have a lot of control knobs and switches available or are they canned controls for all aircraft?

    Just curious.

    Well, the entire keyboard is mapped to game functions, including the number pad. My Thrustmaster stick has 14 buttons, all mapped plus the games has live weather and air traffic plus live local Air Traffic Control chatter (plane to tower comms), all Curtesy of the Internet

    So yeah, it's a bit complex

    As complex as Orbiter, which was programmed by real life rocket scientists

    You can also go to the "In Cockpit" view.... All switches & controls (except control column or stick) are fully functional (with your mouse/trackball)
