Perhaps another perspective is they don't have to put it on sale to get people to buy it. It is one of the most played games on Steam. Maybe because it is not a good game?

My comment was ment as a joke. I don't care what you guys play as long you're having fun. But to answer your question. A large playerbase doesn't have to reflect on quality. Just look at half of the mobile market where they thrive on addiction. My recent dislike for PUBG is that it's shallow, poorly optimized and have a monetization scheme I don't approve of. Maybe I'm a bit cranky, but watching the industry grow out of control is making me angry, for a lack of a better word.

PUBG was released as a beta. Of course it was poorly optimized. They have done a great deal to make it better. They have a lot more to do yet, but it is much better than it once was. Perhaps sometimes "shallow", if that's what you choose to call it, isn't all that bad. Sometimes people like a game just to enjoy and escape from real life. I know nothing about the mobile market. I've never tried it and have no interest in it. I'll leave it at that.

Of course, play whatever you want to I think shallow in this case I ment lack of details or interesting art direction. If you look at Fortnite, to me that looks unique in comparison. The mobile market is running for the most part on f2p, which means ads, lootboxes, booster packs etc. Its easy to see this side of the industry being influenced by it because of how much money they're making. Once that becomes an issue with gameplay, like we've seen with Battlefront 2, then that's a big problem to me. I even have a blacklist of publishers doing this. Man I'm cranky...

There is no Steam sale on PUBG because they don't want ME to buy it. They probably saw my videos where I can't even find a weapon and said to themselves "this guy trying to play PUBG is not good for business. Oh oh, he might try it again if it goes on sale. Can't have that".

    Sorry about that, gamer friends.
