    missing battery meter

Updated my wife's laptop with windows 10 and now is missing the battery meter (charging, power left also no warning on screen when low power) going to the notification area properties the option to turn power icon is completely greyed out and unselectable. Fully up to date and have ran a sweep for errors with SFC/scannow and returned no errors. Any help?

Same here bud. Not worried about locations too much but sudden shutdowns because of not knowing you have low battery is annoying as hell.

Go to device manager disable both 'Microsoft AC Adapter' and 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery'
    Then Re-Enable them again.

Let me know how it goes...

Just installed the upgrade... Up to now this seems to be the only glitch... The above didn't help...
    Any more ideas? :)

Well, that's funny!... Suddenly the battery icon came up, hours after installation and trying out things... Is Win10 a self learning miracle worker? Or maybe it only comes up when it gets necessary?

I'll wait and see what it does next when my battery is full again but it seems to be solved...
    Sorry about bothering you

Yep! That was exactly my reaction!

Then I waited till the battery was full and unplugged the cable. The icon stayed. I rebooted and it was gone again... I'll see tomorrow what happens when the battery runs low again (we're on different hours, I assume - here it is just past midnight)... I'll let you know if it comes back or if it is really a bug having a lough with us... But if it indeed only comes up when you need to know, someone should have told us ...

actually I think we're on about the same hours CET, that is...

So what - it showed up when YOU reached critical mass - and the computer reached 10 or so % unplugged?

    Good morning

Well, that is indeed more or less what happened... Bit confusing, really... ;-)
Now, this morning, the icon is there - even on the lock screen this time... Wonder if it will stay now...
Is someone looking into the computers that have Win10 installed to correct these things maybe - or the computer sending info all the time? I wonder... And if yes, though it seems to help, I don't know if I like that idea... :-/
