NO SOUND after Windows 10 1709 FCU update

The troubleshooter suggest I download the Microsoft HD Audio driver, but I have not been successful. Currently I have realtek speakers, so I attempted to look for updated drivers again unsuccessful.

You can always find the latest RealTek drivers here, linked in Brink's sticky thread in this forum: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version - Windows 10 Forums.

Have you tried updating through the Device Manager?

What is the exact Dell model number. With Inspiron 15 I assume a laptop model. e.g. my Inspiron 15 is model "5577".
I can cross reference what you need.

Posting a screenshot of the Device manager, Sound, Video and Game Controllers section is also helpful.

I am getting this on my Desktop , with the Realtek Soundcard , so I Iet the troubleshooter run , say no to the Enhancements , say no to the offered MS HD Audio File (keep current driver) , it goes to the next step where it "fixes" a missing Default Audio format and everything is fine again....for a while ....next reboot? been getting it since FCU too.

The Trouble Shooter details say a Service is not running so perhaps something to check too............

Both the Windows Audio and the Windows Audio End Point Builder services must be running for audio to work correctly. At least one of these services isn't running.

Press the Win key+R and type services.msc and press enter. Scroll down to Windows Audio and the Windows Audio End Point Builder services Double click each one and change Startup type to Automatic, and Start each Service.
