Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [archive]

You guys are the go-to for this. After 8018 (and before) I've always had these choices. Never changed from the default. Should I? Stereo/L-R with Bass Center floor box. Altec.

it can make a difference, in SOME configurations
its one of the reasons I originally brought up the Hacked Realtek Drivers thread on Tech Powerup. you can use that and edit your registry settings to get full use of Dolby Digital and Neo DTS where you actually can notice the difference between 48k and 192k, but without the hack the difference is negligible'
the Dell Audio front end is very limited, whereas that hack gave you the best of both worlds. the old realtek Control Panel UI, and the Dolby and DTS switches......
it was a true one-stop applet to control your entire Sound configuration. especially for gamers

Thanks for all the advice on the 8018 and Maxx4 settings. I know just enough to be dangerous with this, so I'm gonna abide by DooGie and play it by ear. (No pun intended, I think )
I'm not a gamer and don't have super-whoopee speakers, so I probably wouldn't hear the difference anyway! Do have a nice set of Pickering cans....I'll see what they sound like.

DooGie i was just trying to help him, his incessant nit picking just really upset me off. the sad part is there is a very easy solution to his issue but he's to stubborn to see it and I for one wont waste any more time on it
You still haven't stated what that is other than going back to an older Windows build (or "Go back where you came from - the mod thread."). I came here asking if anyone here might know of another solution or fix with this build. That is why I came here. Going back to an old build is the "I'm a banana snowflake" answer, and even worse if this isn't working by the time RS2 is released to the public in March.

Gentlemen.....you do as you please, but if you continue in a post battle, particularly with your choice of vocabulary, it may not work out well. It's not for me to judge the content. That is up to others.

Couldn't see (or hear) any difference in at least last 20 or more drivers.
-
Sometimes you think there is an improvement just because you have a newer driver (placebo effect). Even if you don't hear any difference, you have nothing to lose to update to the latest version.

I keep on updating in the hope of getting back my equalizer I had before but no such luck (yet).

Mike, you mean this?

And this Mike
I got the MSI mobo around five years ago and the equaliser has never gone missing with any driver update.

Yeah something like that but it was in the Realtec HD audio panel and in the Mixer which is missing in W10. Wouldn't need it much but need to lower bass when viewing on you tube for instance. Most MM players have it built in, so movies and music are not a problem.
I have good 3 speakers (2 satellites and a woofer) but they are not 2+1, just stereo. Woofer doesn't have own plug and therefore no SW control.
