No, that is not why... I am well aware of how the update system works and what drivers I have installed.
you are aware that the original process of that file was based on changing the code on 2 specific dlls in the realtek drivers.....microsoft can hardly be expected to know what revisions we have made to software that was never released in the first place.

read the thread by the original uploader. he said point blank that he used an editor to change the driver code, one would think that any update of either realtek itself or windows would break the driver..... if thats the case dont update realtek or windows

I updated and latest version sounds good to me, at least on my system.

    I agree asturias7.

If I wanted to nit pick though, I would say that they are slightly too refined and smooth. Still excellent drivers and they're staying on my system for now :)

Let me ask you this, are you on 14986 and using Realtek Optical Dolby or DTS default format officially?

no im not when it broke i updated to the realtek windows ten driver

the mod was good while it lasted though and i used it for 2 years. eventually all mods like that end up being broken because software is ever changing.... someone here posted a way to use dolby proprietary software v4. on any system so there are others, but none of them last forever. because new operation systems are always changing.....its just best to accept it and look for whats next,,,,,

look at it this way, you had better functionality than 99% if most realtek users that you never paid for, sure it took some effort on our parts, but it was good while it lasted, no?

So you can't claim that Optical Dolby/DTS default format is working for legitimate licensed users on 14986, which I strongly believe it is not.

    are you an idiot?

14986 came out today, of course no one has developed a hack for that yet using the tech powerup method

dont use the file if you clearly dont know what youre doing. and you clearly dont

and just for others information their are other ways to get Optical Dolby/DTS to work in windows 14986, in fact im using one now

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE HACK. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE OFFICIAL UNMODIFIED DRIVERS, WHICH IS WHAT I CLEARLY STATED MULTIPLE TIMES. Do I need to do more bolding and underlining?

Ok, and what method are you using? Home Theater? What's your default format for Optical set to then? 2 Channel? or is your Dolby default format there working?
