    Hey everyone.

I've had awful audio quality since updating to Windows 10 Anniversary so I started to research it.

Current Realtek driver is dated 6/24/15 and when I try to upgrade it I get a dialog that it's using the latest version. This is not the case though.

So I found this thread and downloaded Version 7968 but I don't know how to install the driver haha. It's in .rar form, can someone tell me how to tell device manager to use this driver?
Double-click on the rar. This will show you its contents.
Create a new folder on your PC (I would name it Realtek HD Audio v7968).
Now extract all the files in that .rar to that new folder (which means it will copy the contents to the new folder).
Now go to your Device Manager, right-click on Realtek HD Audio, then Update Driver, then Browse my computer... now choose that new folder you created, and continue.
It should install with no problems.

Honestly man, thank you so much for this prompt response!

I had issues doing this with 7968. When I clicked for it to use the 7968 folder that I created it came back and said that it was currently using the most recent driver and then would go back to the device manager screen. I checked the version and it still said it was using the 2015 version.

So then I uninstalled that driver and restarted my computer and when I went back into device manager it now said it was using a driver version from 2013. I again tried to tell it to use the 7968 folder but it still came back with the same message, that it was using latest driver version.

I deleted v7968 and decided to try downloading v7982 that DooGie posted and got it to work. I have great audio quality again.

So major thanks to both of you guys!

    Thanks DooGie.

Should anyone have problems, I have an alternate link:
    https://us.softpedia-secure-download..._Win7_WHQL.zip

Unzip it after having downloaded it, then click on Setup and it will do the rest.

    The link doesn't work asturias7 .
It's possible that softpedia don't allow direct links to files, probably better to link to the page the driver's on.

    Hi,

They must have pulled it. I downloaded from there a few days ago.

    Cheers,
