I have tried countless method to install realtek cab file, but always getting dsim error 0x80070002, the system cannot find the file specified, while i have already using enclosed with double quotation marks, moving the files to shorter path like in c drive root directory but still always getting that error.

Even renaming the file into test.cab. Checking the file permissions also no luck.

Build 7968 is one of the best sounding Realtek HD drivers I've heard. Personal opinion of course but I'd be interested to hear what other users think.
I installed the latest update and I agree. I played 3 straight hours of my favorite CDs and the sound is crisp, every instrument is clear, the bass is outstanding, etc, etc. So far 7968 is the best.

    echelon
and anyone who wants to install the
Latest and Best Sounding Realtek 7968 Driver from Microsoft

Here are the steps to install:

First: Download the brand new, most recent and reportedly best sounding Realtek Drivers v6.0.1.7968 from Microsoft here: Windows 10 64-bit - Direct Download ===>> http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/...a0958744aa.cab
For Other Versions: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version - Windows 10 Forums

Note: You may be able to install the driver more quickly by using this method and avoid steps Second through Third (although it sometimes doesn't work) - See: CAB file - Install in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Second: Create an empty Folder named: Realtek 7968
Then, double-click on the CAB file you downloaded above. It will open. Hit Ctrl-A to select all the files and drag and drop them into the empty folder you just created.
NOTE: 7-Zip will extract the CAB file much faster. 7-Zip is free here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Third: Click on Start and type Device Manager and click on Device Manager. Go to "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" and expand it. Right Click on "Realtek High Definition Audio" and select "Update Driver Software". Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
Click the Browse button and navigate to the folder you created called: Realtek 7968
Follow the prompts to install the driver. After the driver installs, wait about 2 minutes until device setup is complete. Reboot. Done.

To check if the driver installed: Right Click on "Realtek High Definition Audio" and select "Properties". Look under the Driver Tab and check if the Driver Version is: 6.0.1.7968

Note: If the above steps do not work, here is a possible solution:
In device manager, Right Click on "Realtek High Definition Audio" and select "Uninstall" and be sure to select "delete the driver software for this device." Reboot. After reboot, Windows 10 will reinstall drivers for you. Wait until it's done. Now, you can update them by going to step Third above.

echelon If you continue to get a DISM error 0x80070002 after following all the steps above, this means you likely have complex Windows 10 issues. This error will need to be researched so Windows 10 can be repaired. The first thing I would do is run a System File Check. Here are the instructions: SFC Command - Run in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

You will likely need an expert to review your Event Viewer Log and research the DISM 0x80070002 cannot find the file specified error. You might have an issue with Deployment Image Servicing and Management, although I don't know why this would be related to a driver installation using the method described above.

The latest and greatest is not available from the Realtek ftp site because the site is down for unknown reasons.

To install the latest driver from Microsoft (reportedly best sounding), version 7968 see here: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version - Page 140 - Windows 10 Forums

To download the last available driver (not the current driver) from the realtek ftp site with a setup.exe, click here - version 7962:

Yay, finally, a new one on MUC!
@Intrepid1: The 2 downloads are exactly the same, but it's always good to be accurate anyway.
@DooGie: Well, it does seem to sound good, but boy is it hard to tell if it's just the ol' placebo effect at work, like when someone says things look better after a display driver update. To me it does seem to sound clearer at low volume now, but will have to do some serious listen testing.

And my Loudness Equalization setting is still not remembered after rebooting. :/
