Extract the cab file. In device manager, under Sound, Video and Game Controls, Right Click on Realtek High Definition Audio, Select Update Driver Software and Browse to the extracted cab folder. The driver will install.
That's what I always did, but didn't work for some reason.
Q: I'm still using Win7... if I download one of the updates that say “Windows 10 and later drivers”, will it work for Win7?

I can't even get the updates from Microsoft to work for me. My computer just doesn't want to update via their cab files, etc for some reason. So the ones from the Realtek site were quite useful for me.
And yeah, I'm surprised it was available to us, shall we say, for all this time seeing as it was never really meant for the general public.

I'll also be on the look out for the new password, etc if it becomes available.
As Intrepid1 says, that works fine or go here and read the various options. CAB file - Add Install to Context Menu in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

I'd be quite happy to use the MUC if Microsoft would sort it out so that it works correctly. Whenever I've posted a link to it it's worked fine for a couple of days then when you click on it you get the Realtek drivers plus a whole load of unrelated stuff. In short it's a mess

    Hi,

Most probably NOT. The setup routine checks the OS version most of the time.

I was able to get into the FTP server with a different user name & password...
this is all that is left, so I don't know if the address has changed or if they're revamping the website....

Strange... if I access it via this website, with the user name & password I provided, it works: Can anyone access the Realtek website? : Windows10

Still, there's barely anything left there.
