Not confusing, open the file name, check "Package Details" and have a look for the Vendor and/or DeviceID's.
Realtek is doing the drivers for different manufacturers which has to be, due MS, in separated driver packages

Does anybody have changelog ? Seems pointless to update without knowing what it's good for.

No changelog Mike. I've never seen a changelog for any of the Realtek HD drivers

So it's essentially "Work/doesn't work" kind of crappshoot deal ?

In a way Mike, however in all the Realtek HD drivers I've tried there has only been one that didn't work on my system. There are subtle audio differences in a lot of them though. That's why I posted earler in this thread that it's always best for a user to try the builds out on their own system, what I think sounds good may not be to anothers taste.

I hear you, not all chips are same and analog part pre-amp is not same everywhere either.

Thanks for the reply Tom. Perhaps confusing was the wrong word for me to use. "Time wasting" would have been a better term to use, that's why I always post a direct Realtek link so users can download one package and the installer checks the users system and installs the correct files.
I can understand Microsofts' way though if a user is on a metered connection.
