Hello! I have a laptop (Dell Inspiron 7559) and its speakers make a popping sound when a sound is about to start. It's related to power management option of Realtek drivers, which makes the card go sleep when there is no sound.
The personalized Realtek drivers from Dell site don't have the option to disable power management, but the R2.79 of Realtek site has that option.
The sound card of my laptop will get damaged if I install the generic Realtek drivers (R2.79) or even the latest ones 7770? the Realtek chip is the ALC3234 or ALC3246.

No it won't damage your soundchip. If they don't work as you want then you can always uninstall them and reinstall the Dell drivers.
It may be the case that the option you want won't appear though as most motherboard manufacturers buld the options into the soundchips firmware or into some part of the motherboard. For instance I have an MSI motherboard and I always get the MSI logo displayed in the Realtek Audio Manager interface whereas someone with an ASUS motherboard will always see the ASUS logo. That remains the same whichever build of the Realtek HD driver you install.

Yes, I get the Dell logo with the 2.79, but also the power management option that is not present on Dell personalized drivers. I thought that my sound card with its firmware was not prepared to turn off power management.

Is there ANY other way of downloading these drivers? none of the ftp links work for me, I even tried using filezilla to get them but it won't connect no matter what, my PC can resolve the DNS and see the IP but it just won't connect no matter what

I just use my regular browser which is Firefox. Just click on the link I posted and after a few seconds a box should pop up asking for a username and password. I posted the username and password in my post containing the link.
You don't need to use an ftp client.

Hey dude, I'm the one who posted above a message about the Dell's personalized Realtek drivers. If the power management option is not available in that drivers, it won't be harmful to install a generic realtek driver that has that function available ?

A few others have this problem. I can only put it down to the possibility that you have a bad routing to the site.
Try opening a command prompt and running a tracert to the Realtek ftp server, this will let you see where the connection is hanging or being lost. When you find out then give your ISP a call and explain the problem.
