Oh my god, do I ever feel stupid - this whole time I was trying to do it via the Audio section (so essentially directly on my speakers) and not the Sound Video and Game Controllers - a good hour and a half of stupidity later and the drivers are up to date. Thank you! *facepalm*

We'll see - I'm downloading another one from the Realtek FTP but it's going rather slow. The driver version lists as one from October but I'm going to try and get 7738 going once it is done.

Actually, whilst I'm here - I wonder if you might have any insight as to my issue that took me down the audio driver rabbit hole! My Game DVR is just refusing to record any sound when I try and capture clips from my games and it never ever has. I'm not sure if it could be a driver issue or something else, but I feel like I've tried everything to try and solve this issue bar updating the drivers. Google has been helpful in suggesting a couple of suggestions but so far none of 'em have helped...

Sorry, not a gamer and no experience with those thingies. Maybe you could pose the question in Games section.

    Hello,

I have recently installed an update for my BIOS settings and since then, I cannot find my Realtek HD Audio manager in my control panel...
I do not have any 'on-board sound' option in my BIOS settings to enable. I have tried installing (with proper pre-uninstalling) R277, no go. R2778, no go. R2779 no go... I have tried then installing 7738 from the ftp. Still no go. The control panel doesn't show up in my windows control panel anywhere. When I go to Program Files/Realtek/Audio/HDA and try to run any of the .exe files there, they simply do not run. The only one that does is this, and this is how it 'looks' like...

Help me please? I really need the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel.

Hey guys, I already have 6.0.1.7560 version from AsRock(manufacturer of my motherboard).
Now I downloaded from open post, the last updated 64bit version from the Microsoft Catalog. Then I tried to extract the archive with WinRar, but it seems to be broken. I tried various times with no success.

EDIT: Ok, done. For some weird reason, I had to double click on the compressed file, then inside the WinRar screen, had to select "extract".

Pleased to hear you got it sorted out :)

If you have WinRAR enabled on the context menu you should be able to right click on the file and select Extract Files which would have enabled you to decompress the file.

Yep, I know. The problem was just that. If I tried to extract files in that way, it gave me an error, like if file was corrupted.

That's strange, I've used WinRAR for around 10 years now and never seen that.

Anyway are the drivers working ok now you have installed.
