I didn't try 7714 as they were specifically coded for Wistron.
I prefer to stick with the generic Realtek drivers.
I think they are all Generic regardless what it says as it will only install using the correct inf file anyways as it seems like all drivers have multiple profiles like Dolby, THX, DTS, etc.
Version 6.0.1.7719 is now available through the Microsoft Update Catalog. For some reason I feel more comfortable downloading from an official Microsoft source rather than the Realtek FTP.
It's interesting that there is no SST version listed this time around. Is anyone else surprised how often Realtek releases updates? It seems to be a new version every couple days!
That's because the Microsoft drivers are smaller in file size. The Realtek ones are released too often even though it's WHQL.
I tried recently 7712 whql, stable release, but saw no improvements, apart from a louder sound, so back to the 6.0.1.6098 which worked flawlessly for me for years under W 7 and now W 10.
By the way, for those who do not want to set each time their equalizer settings after installing a newer driver, my tweak described here: http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-aud...ettings-3.html
is still working with 7712 whql and I suppose with later drivers also,.... good thing.
All you had to do is to replace the random numbers in bold, alongside with the procedure described from the link.
