Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [archive]

I am wondering if I could get some help with problems I have been having on my ASUS Laptop.

Whenever an application or program requires access to my Internal Microphone (i.e. Cortana, Skype, Steam) the volume at which the Microphone is set to is automatically reset to either (from what I've seen) 96 or 55, seemingly at random, but ALWAYS.

This has only started happening as far back as a month ago (as far as I know) and I have been trying everything I know of to fix it. I do not know if it is Realtek causing these issues, but I've tried uninstalling it and it's apparently IMPOSSIBLE (according to every topic thread I've seen about this kind of issue) to prevent it from reinstalling itself after reboot, so I've also tried completely updating it, rolling it back, switching to beta versions, and I've had no luck. It seemed to work fine with the generic Microsoft drivers for a short time that it let me use them, however the microphone volume ITSELF was just much quieter, despite what it said the percentage was at, and it also duplicated the Microphone for some odd reason.

Anyways, I would very much appreciate it if someone could help me with this, because it's been giving me headaches for so long, and I've not been able to even call anyone correctly because they can't hear me. Most times, even if I have the slider menu open, it will fight with me, turning it back down every time I turn it back up. It's very irritating.

I am able to provide any information needed. I have already checked to see if applications like Skype were auto adjusting my Mic settings, and those are all unchecked. I've also unchecked the boxes which allow applications to take exclusive control over the Microphone, as well.

I should also add that the same thing happens whether the volume is higher OR lower. Those two numbers are just favored for some reason. On occasion, my Speaker volume will also be set to 63 out of nowhere, but that isn't much of a problem as it rarely happens and it doesn't continuously change back.

Another thing is that I uninstalled SRS Premium Sound from this device after this all started happening, wondering if it would fix anything, but also because I don't like it, it's outdated, and it doesn't ever get used. However, because of the fact that it seems to have been implemented within Realtek High Definition Audio, it still has its own tab in the playback settings, but when you try to activate it, and error message pops up, stating "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\SRS Labs\SRS Premium Sound Control Panel\SRSPremiumPanel_64.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." (I didn't type anything, just default error message.)

Is there any way I could remove this implementation box and all/or all traces of SRS?

Damn. I guess I must be the only one having my problem. I've asked at numerous forums and havent even gotten a single reply. Dont care anymore. I didnt change shit. All this bullshit happened after a driver update so I guess Im screwed either way. Last time I ever use a motherboard with Realtek on it.

NO DON'T DO IT! [You'll be screwed even more and make things worse]. Believe me, I know I had done something like this and made a bigger mess of things.
Just install the SRS Wide 3D v1.12.9500 Control Panel App (which has the latest SRSPremiumPanel_64.exe app). From there you can turn SRS off if you don't like it.

SRS is only implemented with certain Realtek audio chipsets (NOT all of them) when the driver is installed thru the following INF files (HDXSRSA.INF, HDXSRSD.INF, HDXSRSD2.INF, HDXSRSL.INF, HDXSRSS.INF & HDXSRSSV.INF)
Older Realtek chipsets like mine seem to handle SRS Premium sound okay. Just needed to fine tune the controls to make the sound better since I didn't like the "default" preset settings.

BTW, all the SRS stuff is owned by DTS Inc since DTS acquired SRS Labs in July 2012.

Note to Brink: version 6.0.1.7687 is available from the Microsoft Update Catalog site (for 32bit & 64bit Windows). However, attempting to download the v7687 package from there is generating error messages on the MS Update Catalog site lately, so I ended up downloading v7687 from Softpedia's Realtek sound card page.

I'm also having trouble with that automatic volume correction. I reinstalled drivers many times, even the whole OS and it's still the same issue. (in Win 7 & 8.1 it works fine)

Is there any other Audio Driver for Win10?
