Might be that drivers re all the same only some skins added at manufacturers. I'll try to download one from MSI, it should work although my MB is Gigabyte.

Here's a screenshot Realtek HD Audio Manager with only the basic options(basically just volume), MSI has its own sound effects app called "Nahimic" which is a crap, I would rather have the built-in sound effects option.

I believe the skins came with the drivers and is detected and applied upon installation. Cause no matter where I get my drivers I always end up with the MSI skin.

Yes I agree entirely with that. I can download Realtek HD drivers from any mobo manufacturers site and when installed the GUI of the HD Audio Manager still has the same skin and the MSI logo. Could be that it's embedded in the UEFI.

As posted in the earlier screen shot, mines is the ALC269, I wonder if the first digit is the # of channels as mines is 2 channels on a ASUS Laptop. The 8 is 8 channels aka 7.1.

Could be as I don't have a UEFI bios except for booting...

    That's correct Almighty1.

    ALC2 denotes 2 channel http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/p...Level=5&Conn=4
    ALC6 denotes 6 channel http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/p...Level=5&Conn=4
    ALC8 denotes 8 channel http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/p...Level=5&Conn=4
