I can confirm that this driver package, at least on my system (Win10 build 10240) is 'broken'. Something causes failure in all modes except standard stereo mode; all other modes (quadraphonic, 5.1, and 7.1 work sporadically or not at all). I'm also having an issue with the task tray icon staying present, even though the option has been enabled (and even disabled and then re-enabled) in the Audio Manager. I can't understand how this made it to their servers, let alone the Microsoft Update catalog.
I did warn you it wasn't very nice

TBH the first thing I do wnen installing new Realtek HD drivers is disable the Sound Manager showing up in the tray.

Reason is it slows down bootup, I rarely use it and if I do want to I run it from the Control Panel.

Hopefully 7654 is better than 7647. Perhaps Realtek was looking to break something so they have something to fix since it seems like their driver releasing has slowed down compared to before.

It's ftp and usually downloads the zip file which you extract afterwards, for me, I extract with WinRAR. Haven't downloaded it yet.

I've installed these now and soundwise they seem fine.
What was broken in 7647 now seems fixed. I feel it's worth giving them a try.

Also the Realtek HD Audio Manager is loading to the tray on system startup.

    UPDATE

I'd installed these through device manager but was so pleased that I then did a clean install of them using the setup.
On my system everything is running as it should :)

As an aside, it's well worth running CCleaner Registry cleaner after uninstalling the Realtek HD drivers. It's amazing how much crap is left behind.
