Nothing, you will get the HD, you just won't get the waves portion because just like you, I have a Realtek HD and using the waves version, it works just like the regular would but because we don't have the waves function, we just don't get that part of the sound.

This thread is interesting to read too, since it seems like if you have THX installed, the realtek sound enhancements get disabled.

Seems like basically you can do the same thing without using the third party sound enhancement (i.e. THX Tru Studio or SRS Essentials) by just using the Realtek Equalizer.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Creative Labs, they bought out THX which is the reason you see THX from them and basically the THX name is worthless. Their sound cards used to be junk until they bought out Emu and then started with Wavetable Synthesis but Realtek is some cheap hardware so it's going to have it's limits. I'm going to try the THX Tru Studio Pro 3.5.0 and see if it works.

I installed THX Tru Studio 3.50 which is really 1.04 and I guess while the options are there, I didn't notice any change in the sound and it was lagging the system for some reason after the reboot so I uninstalled it.
