I'd force device manager to use the HDXRT.INF file (if 64bit) [or HDART.INF file if using 32bit Windows) by clicking Update Driver in Device Manager, select Browse my computer for driver software, and (this is the most important part) choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, then click the Have Disk button, and I would click Browse to specify the folder where that INF file is stored and I select it, then click Next and/or OK to install the new driver with the specified INF file.
note to brink: v7566 just came out.
and note to zombiekiller57: try another set of 5.1 speakers on your computer, it could be a problem with the rear audio jack or the speakers themselves since the problem seems to occur with any driver version you use.
Hi!
When I try to install newest Realtek driver, the installation program uninstall oldest one & reboot to install the new one.
But after reboot, Windows automatically reinstall the oldest one, installation program run again to uninstall etc etc.
Its really boring. Can I force Windows to not automatically install drivers?
Would this be the correct update for the audio codec i have on my asus z87-pro motherboard (the ALC1150).
I currently have 6.0.1.7535 installed.

DTS connect is still not working when trying to play the sound test on 5.1 mode gives an error. im able to play on 2 speaker configuration,
Im using optical output, and the receiver is a SONY STR-K1600, and it was working on DTS connect, before upgrading to Win10 Release yesterday.

Hi,
Since I have updated my HP laptop to windows 10 from 8.1 a couple of days ago, I have been facing issues with sound (Realtek HD drivers installed). Often it stops working completely and only solution is to restart. After boot up it runs for some 30-40 minutes, but then again the same problem.
Symptoms:
1. No sound at all
2. Volume slider freezes
3. Videos stop streaming
4. Taskbar becomes unresponsive at times.
What I have done so far:
1. Uninstalled the existing version (which was there on 8.1 and working fine). Restarted and windows reinstalled the compatible latest version on its own (Version 6.0.1.7548). But it did not solve the issues.
2. Uninstalled audio driver completely. Downloaded the latest version from realtek website (6.0.1.7541). Installed , restarted. Aftre 30 minutes same problem.
3. Downloaded latest driver from Microsoft Update Catalog (6.0.1.7566). This time it solved the issue. But now my beats audio is gone. I can't open the Beats audio manager (It only opens the default Realtek manager). It does not detect headphone plug-in and even after my headphone is connected my speakers are still on and sound is coming from both.
Can you please suggest what should be done next from my end. Thanks in advance!
v7571 from MS Update Catalog (32bit) (64bit)
Now this one is WHQL for Windows from Vista to Ten as I checked the digital signature CAT files myself.
