v7751 is only WHQL certified for Win8, 8.1 & 10 only (just like v7750) - (32bit/x86 download for non-IE browsers) (64bit/x64 download for non-IE browsers)
and if you have problems downloading v7751 there, try the Softpedia drivers Realtek sound card page.

Why don't they just put all the WHQL ones in the GeneralRelease directory instead of spreading them around.

It shows as supporting Windows 10 and later. Where do you see only 8, 8.1, and 10 at?
Has anyone determined why the audio jumps when resuming playback in video and audio applications? I keep updating the Realtek drivers in hopes that this problem will be addressed, but neither drivers nor cumulative updates seem to make any difference.
I just noticed your post. I have the same problem. I haven't found a solution yet.newest driver sounds good, but i still have the same issue with sudden soundspikes when i pause a video or play something new its x3 as loud as it should be, and i have to adjust the volume all the time.

i have to use generic windows 10 drivers for it to work, but they dont sound as good as realtek.

I too have been battling the sound spiking problem that both of you have described. I have been installing every new Realtek HD audio driver in hopes that the volume spiking issue gets resolved. As you are well aware, the problem is still there.
These are the things that I have done in trying to get this driver bug fixed but haven't been very successful:
1. Spoke with a Microsoft audio engineer on the Windows team. He confirmed that the problem was indeed a Realtek driver issue and that he would open a bug report for Realtek to address the problem. I've sent a couple emails asking for the status but haven't heard anything.
2. Posted a message on the Windows 10 feedback app regarding the spiking volume problem.
3. Sent an email to 'pctech@realtek.com'. This email address is for support regarding HD audio codecs at Realtek. I even sent a Realtek HD audio dump file in hopes of providing more information. I have sent three emails but haven't heard back from any of my attempts.
I wish I knew a good contact person at Realtek. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have seen numerous message boards where people describe the same issue regarding the volume spiking. It's hard for me to believe that the Realtek HD audio developers/testers haven't encountered this problem. I'm baffled and frustrated.
I don't have the sound problem myself but I'm wondering if it could be anything to do with this Windows sound setting...
I always have mine set to "Do nothing" since I don't use any Windows features that might require a different setting.

Wow! I don't wanna speak to soon, but I think this solved it for me. And actually, it kinda makes sense. The volume jump seemed to be a matter of shifting focus windows. For some reason, if playback was paused and I switched focus to a different window, after switching back and resuming, the volume increased. I didn't have to wait a few minutes for the increase. This indicated to me that it was a matter of focus. My default setting seemed to have been set to "Reduce volume of other sounds by 80%". Now that I've switched to "Do nothing" I'm no longer getting any volume jumps! Thanks so much for the tip, wiggly1uk2000!
