    Hello, guys! :)

My first post @ this forum. For a while, i was anoynimusly checking for new drivers and things, and today i decided to join you all. I'm happy to be here.

But here's the thing.. I just saw that user Almighty 1 , posted new drivers for Realtek, but what i don't understand is - which i need to download ? I downloaded all 3, but don't know which to install. Don't know which one is the right for me. Maybe you could help me out ?

    Sincerely,
    Toms.

Welcome to tenforums, Tomixxs. Just a note that it's not required if your drivers are working and download the first one as that's the generic driver, the second one is for Quanta, which is a OEM Manufacturer of computers for major brands, the third one is DS1DHT whatever that means. Newer drivers may either be better or it can be worse, it all depends on your luck and make sure to have a copy of your old drivers in case you don't like the new ones. But since it doesn't cost you anything, it's worth a try.

    Hello forum,

I'm having some issues with a 2.1 speaker system. The sound is coming from the right speaker and the subwoofer. Last night, with the drivers I had, the sound was coming from both speakers and very vaguely from the subwoofer. I tried with several versions of the Realtek HD Audio Driver, including the latest one posted earlier, and the Microsoft Default, with no success though.

My computer is a Dell Optiplex 990, not sure about the sound board (only 2 jacks in the back, green and blue) and two in the front.

I'm sorry but this is my first post on this forum, let me know if there are further details I can offer you.

    Cheers,
    Iulian

Did you test sound from Realtek control panel ? Is it set to 2.1 ?

Your speaker system, does it have only one connector or separate for sub woofer ? If it has only one, than it's just stereo, true 2.1 speakers have one connector for left and right and separate for bass.
In any case, did you check "Full range speakers" box in lower left part of Raeltek panel ?

Yes, I ticked it (Full Front and Right). Nothing changed it for me.
The whole sound system has only one connector.

By your first post I would think there may be a problem with speaker connection, either on speaker itself or plug on MB. Looks like all 3 contacts are not hitting right connectors, Try wiggling it a bit, let some music play during that time. If speakers have buttons, center them all.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I checked and indeed, a connector from one of the speakers to the subwoofer was faulty.
    Sorry for the troublesome post.

No problem, had that happen many times. All those old computers and parts I get to play with can drive me crazy some times. According to Murphy's law it's always least expected solution that works.
