Got driver updates on windows update but they would not install without a UAC prompt. Installed them still flat sound so I went into device manager and did not roll back the drivers I chose let me pick, ignore the stupid warning and just chose the Microsoft HD Audio driver and now it is back to full sound. I then disabled all the Realtek startup junk. Now even when I choose to automatically check for updates it does not push the cruddy Realtek driver anymore as long as I keep it installed but don't use it.

Why are people saying this is cruddy realtek drivers i don't have any issues with them at all, infact my audio sounds much better than the cruddy default windows drivers.

MS update catalog links do not work... even if I use IE. Anyone got a copy of the x64 latest drivers they can upload to mediafire or some other service? Would love to beat these audio glitches. Thanks.

I confirm this release works for me without any issues so far. To install this new release, you will need to uninstall current release and with restarts, but all automatically. Although it's going to take a while.

When the driver installation is complete, you will need to set your audio settings again in the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the Control Panel.
